I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the parents involved in making teacher appreciation week so special! You all are too kind! I love this class so very much; they have touched my heart in such a special way! 

Thank you for sending the permission slips and money for the field trip. Please let me know if you plan to join us (if you haven't done so already.) All are welcome to attend!

 Awards day will be on Thursday, May 23rd, at 1:30 p.m. 

We will be taking all of our final exams this week...please make sure your kiddo is ready for each one! They will also make one final (one-minute) presentation to the class from 

God's World News Magazine.

Week of May 6th - 10th

Achievement tests are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. 

 Each day of testing has a theme to encourage students. A note went home today explaining the theme of each day; please encourage your kiddo to participate in the fun! We will have a talent show on Thursday afternoon. If you child wants to participate, they must turn in the form by Tuesday.

Awards day is at 1:30 pm on Thursday, May 23rd.

Our class field trip is on Monday, May 20th. Parents are more than welcome to join! Just let me know if you plan to attend!

We will have a spelling test and reading vocab quiz on Monday. That is all we will test on this week because of achievement tests. The following week, we will be taking all of our final exams!

Week of April 29th - May 3rd

Welcome back! I hope your spring break was wonderful! The end of the school year is quickly approaching! Here are a few dates you may want to be aware of:

The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 2nd, at the Courthouse.

Achievement Tests are Tuesday-Thursday, May 7th-9th.

Awards Day for 1st-11th Grade is May 23rd at 1:30.

The 5th grade field trip will be on Monday, May 20th. We will be touring the exhibition coal mine in Beckley, then spending the afternoon at Ace Adventure Waterpark!

Week of April 15th - 18th

We will be going on a field trip to Carnifex Ferry on Wednesday, April 17th from 9:00 - 1:00. Each student will need to bring a packed lunch. 

We will have our class Easter party on Thursday starting at 1:00 pm. (Please let me know if you'd like to help in any way.)

Spring Break is from Friday, April 19th to Sunday, April 28th!!!

If you aren't planning to purchase the spring pictures of  your kiddo, please return asap!

Our class has been invited to attend a tree festival with other 5th graders in Nicholas County on Friday, April 12th. I will be sending home a permission slip Monday. Also, we will be going to the water festival on Wednesday, April 17th. 

Our Easter party will be on Thursday, April 18th; please let me know if you would like to help out in any way! 

Spring break is from Friday, April 19th - Sunday, April 28th! 

Please make sure your child is reading the book they chose to present before the end of the year. They need to have it with them in class daily.

We will be off for spring break from Friday, April 19th - Sunday, April 28th! 5th grade is going to the water festival at Carnifex Ferry on Wednesday, April 17th. Because everyone passed their trial spelling test last week, we had a party on Friday afternoon; lets do it again this week!

We are officially into the 4th nine weeks of school! If your child borrowed a book from the public library, please make sure they return it by Monday. We will be finished with our research project by Tuesday!
