E&S: Read 10.5, complete 10C and 10D, quiz 33 Thursday. 10C Due Tuesday.

BIO: Review Monday and Tuesday for test 10 on Wednesday. Begin chapter 21 Thursday. Study guide due Tuesday.

A&P: If you haven't brought in your snack or your report on it, please do so Monday. Complete chapter 13 and take chapter exam Thursday. 13.3 due Tuesday (handout and 7 K&U questions on page 483.) chapter review 13.1 due Wednesday.

Finance: Plan to apply for the Ramsey Scholarship Monday, complete chapter 13 and take the exam Thursday. Scholarship due Tuesday.

 Week of March 23-27

Soul Survivor will be on Thursday and Friday of this week! 

O&D: 10B due Monday, plan to read 11.1, 11A due Tuesday, quiz 33 Wednesday. We will be using microscopes on Wednesday! 

E&S: Planet brochures due Monday for individual presentation. Read 10.4, 10B due Tuesday, quiz 32 closed-book Wednesday. 

BIO: Plan to read all of chapter 20 and take a closed-book quiz (#31) on Wednesday.

A&P: Because we did not have class on Friday, 3/20, please complete the "know and understand" questions on page 458 from section 13.1 and turn in on Monday, 3/23. We will continue learning about the blue zones. Plan to bring a snack in on Wednesday for class with the explanation as to why you chose it! "Know and Understand" questions from 13.2 due Wednesday. 

Finance: Test 12 is due by class on Monday. We will begin chapter 13. Plan to submit sections 13.1-13.3 in the classroom for the week. 13.2 was completed on Tuesday in class and is due by Wednesday.

 Week of March 16-20

Order and Design: We will begin chapter 10 on Monday with an "edible invertebrate lab!" Plan to read all of 10.1 and 10.2 as well as complete 10A, 10B, and quizzes 31-32 for the week. 10B due Thursday.

Earth and Space: We will begin chapter 10 this week. You will be making and presenting a brochure about a planet of your choice. Plan to read 10.1-10.2, complete 10A, and take quiz 30.

Biology: Test 9 Monday, read 19.1-19.3, quiz 29 Friday, dogfish shark dissection Friday. 

Anatomy: Present "speed dating index card on Monday and review for exam on Tuesday, read 13.1-13.2 for the week and prepare for a project on the "Blue Zones." IF YOU CAN, WATCH AN EPISODE ON NETFLIX OVER THE WEEKEND! 

Finance: Plan to complete 12.5-12.6 then take the exam on Friday. There will be an activity to complete on Wednesday. 12.4 is due from Friday, March 13th. Submit 12.6 for Wednesday assignment; "Letter to self" is due Friday.

 Week of March 9-13

There will be an early dismissal on Wednesday, March 11. 

Secondary students will have school on Monday, March 9th. 

7th O&D: Plan to complete chapter 9, take quizzes 29-30 as well as the quarter exam (test 9) on Friday. Closed-book quiz 30 on Tuesday.

8th E&S: We will review for the quarter exam Monday and Tuesday, and take test 9 Thursday, and begin chapter 10 on Thursday and Friday.

9/10 BIO: Plan to complete chapter 18 and review for the upcoming quarter exam. Quiz 29 due Tuesday.

11/12th A&P: Read 12.3-12.4 and complete the given assignments as we prepare for the chapter exam on Monday. Complete the Lab Handout for Tuesday homework. We will review on Friday for exam Monday.

12th Finance: Begin chapter 12 and cover the first 5 sections for the week. Complete 12.3 for Wednesday's class. 12.4 is due Monday/

A&P: Have an index card with a minimum of five bullet points from a blood disorder in section 10.3. You will present it to the class on Tuesday. 

E&S: Complete a hand written essay on chapter 7 using the 11 terms from the "identify" section on page 217.

Bio: Complete a hand written essay on chapter 13 and 14 from the terms listed in class today. It will count as the exam grade. Half of the essay and terms must be written by class Tuesday. The assignment will be due Wednesday.

2/4/26 Snow Day Bonus

 Snow Day Bonus Opportunity: 

Create something! It can be a drawing, a snowman, a fort, a meal, a flower made from pipe cleaners, jewelry, art, or anything else you can think of! Bring it to school on Thursday with an index card briefly describing your creation and how the following verse applies to your work: Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” I will be available by email and Microsoft Teams from 10:00-12:00 if you want to reach out to me with any questions! Finance: Apply for a college scholarship and give me the basic information on it on an index card.

Anatomy: The Great Alimentary Trek – Write a travelogue from the perspective of a piece of food you eat as it travels through your digestive tract. Sketch an image describing the organs as well as the actions happening, including the proper terminology. Reference chapter 13.

Biology: Choose a scientist from p239 or 240 and write a one-page essay on what contribution they made to science. Use you own mind; not AI!!!

Earth and Space: Backyard Scientist p196; you will need snow and construction paper!

Order and Design: Build and airplane and practice flying it. Then answer the following questions on an index card: How does your airplane model the wings of a bird? How is it different? What type of bird does your airplane most resemble? (Bring plane to school with index card.) Reference the science investigation page 260 for ideas.

Finance: Take the chapter 8 exam

Anatomy: Cardiac Lab – Analyze how the heart responds to physical stress by measuring heart rate (BPM) in the following categories: 1) resting heart rate (sitting for 3 minutes, then measure 2) anticipatory response (stand up and prepare for exercise measuring immediately after standing 30 maximum exertion perform two minutes of burpees or “step-ups” then immediately measure heart rate 4) recovery rate sit down for two minutes then measure heart rate. Create a graph showing this information from the data  you collect in a table.

Earth and Space: Science Investigation p196; you will need construction paper, water, and a few small containers.

Order and Design: Blubber Glove Experiment – To understand how mammals use blubber as a thermal insulator, use rubber gloves, a large bowl of ice and water, and shortening (like Crisco or butter.) Place your bare hand (with a glove) into the ice water and start a timer to see how long you can COMFORTABLY keep it there. Then Place your hand in the “blubber glove” and see how long it can stay submerged comfortably. Collect data and make a chart showing the time comparison.

Order and Design: open book quiz Tuesday on sections 6.5-6.6. We will review on Wednesday and Thursday for the semester exam on Friday (test 6.) Don't forget that the animal habitats are due on Friday!

Anatomy: Read chapter 9; plan on homework assignments. We will review chapters 8 and 9 as we prepare for an exam. Monday hw: complete know and understand p309. Tuesday hw: 8.2 handout.

Biology: Read chapter 12; plan for homework assignments on the material. Quiz Thursday; prepare for upcoming semester exam on chapters 1-12. Monday hw: complete section review questions from 12.1.Tuesday HW: define the following terms from section 12.2 for your quiz on Thursday: carrier, incubation period, communicable/noncommunicable disease, endospore, Koch's Postulates, Germ Concept of Disease, epidemic, aerobic/anaerobic bacteria, virus, shape of staph/strep bacteria. Bonus opportunity: define acute, chronic, degenerative, autoimmune, congenital, and deficiency disease.

Earth and Space: 6b due Thursday, Test Thursday (semester exam on chapter 1-6.) Research the Bermuda Triangle and tell me 5 sentences (or bullet points) on your exam for bonus. Tuesday hw: STUDY!
