Week of February 25th - March 1st

Thanks to NLCA for allowing the 5th grade to go out to lunch on Tuesday; we had a blast! We want to encourage everyone to dress in their best school spirit attire next friday to support the players in the basketball games we will be going to watch during school. The concession stand will be open during the game. The following week will be Dr. Seuss week; more details to follow!

Please make sure you kiddo is reading at home for the upcoming research project. They also need to have a folder and index cards by Monday.

Tests and quizzes next week:

Monday - science test
Tuesday - trial spelling
Wednesday - spelling and math tests
Thursday - reading vocab and history quizzes
Friday - Old Testament books of Bible test

Have wonderful weekend!

Week of February 18th-22nd

Thank you for sending in goodies for our Valentine's Day Party! We had so much fun bowling! A special thanks to our chaperones as well!

Parent-teacher conferences will be held Monday, February 18th from 4:00 - 6:30 pm. Please let me know if you would like to be signed up for a time slot.

Our class will be going to the public library and out to lunch on Tuesday, February 19th. There will be no cost because the school is paying as a result of our class winning a school competition! If you have a library card, however, please send it for your child to borrow books for our research project.

The book fair will be this week as well. Feel free to come by and browse or send money with your kiddo to make purchases to help our school out. A note went home with the kids giving more details.

Please make sure that your child is reading at home about the person they are researching (especially if they aren't proficient readers) so that they don't fall behind. There will be several deadlines coming up soon regarding the research. We already borrowed books from the school library in addition to the classroom library.

Tests and Quizzes this Week:

Tuesday - trial spelling test
Wednesday - spelling test and history quiz
Thursday - reading vocab quiz
Friday - Bible, history, and science tests
* we discussed that it would be better to have all three tests on Friday as opposed to earlier in the week; if they aren't prepared for science by Friday, we will postpone it until Monday. *

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

It's homecoming week! Please encourage your kiddo to dress according to each day's theme to help our class win a trip to La Carreta!
