We will be writing a report about a current event. Each student will write a summary on an index card and present it to the class the following week. 

The history test will be pushed back until the beginning of next week due to the snow day and 2-hour delay.

Next week is spirit week! Please encourage your child to participate by bringing in pennies for our class as well as dressing up each day.

Spirit Week is 1/23-27/2017; please have your child plan to dress up each day and bring in coins for our penny war!

Every 5th grader is required to write a story (501-700 words) for the Young writer's competition. It is due on 1/27. It must be written  it at school.

Your child has the option to participate in the county science fair. Because it is not a school requirement, my students will receive extra credit in science if they chose to enter a project.

Please note that the science test as well as the book report on Noah Webster have been pushed back to Thursday, January 12th. Also, the spelling list for this week has been reduced. There will be a bible test next Friday, January 20th.

Report cards were sent home on January 5th for the second nine weeks. Now that we are in the third nine weeks of school, you may notice a bit larger work load as I prepare the students for 6th grade. I believe all of them are ready for the challenge!

Tuesday- Science and trial spelling (list 18)

Wednesday- Noah Webster book report due, delayed due to snow day and spelling
